Hi, I’m Maria Cruz!

Well of Wisdom Therapy Maria Cruz, LICSW

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), a therapist, and a true Seeker. I love uniting with people by investigating along with them how to live their best lives.

That’s because I’ve been obsessed with learning how to live my best life, for as long as I can remember. I’m continually mystified by what it means to be human – and the very human process of alchemy and transformation.

I love focusing on the unseen because it can often create all that we can see in our lives, including what we believe about ourselves and the world.

If I lived in another time, I’d maybe be a medicine woman, witch, doula, shaman, or priestess. The role of therapist is as close as I can get in this lifetime, and I love bringing my magic to other seekers.

Through Well of Wisdom Therapy, I provide online individual therapy for women in the Boston area and throughout Massachusetts who are dealing with:

ANXIETY

  • High Functioning Anxiety

    • You are high achieving yet overthink a lot and can be filled with fear of failure.

  • Perfectionism

    • You never feel good enough or like you are doing enough.

  • General Anxiety and Panic Attacks

    • You have overwhelming fear and worry that culminates in physically uncomfortable sensations.

TRAUMA

  • Single incident PTSD

    • You may have been a victim of a crime or natural disaster or had another standalone event.

  • Complex PTSD

    • You have had multiple difficult experiences throughout your life, especially during your childhood and early years in relationships with others, including verbal, emotional, and/or physical abuse.

LATINX AND BIPOC IDENTITY-SPECIFIC STRUGGLES

Although many of my clients come to me to deal with one or more of the above issues, many LatinX and BIPOC clients feel comforted knowing that I can address culture and identity-specific struggles, and this can be an important feature of our work together, including exploring culture and its impact on other mental health issues.

In our therapy sessions, I utilize an eclectic, holistic approach to help you release and respond to your own inner wisdom. This means I draw from multiple approaches and modalities to target the places you need healing, like an oracle. Here is some of what you can expect in our work together:

EMDR THERAPY FOR TRAUMA

EMDR changes your beliefs about yourself, others, and the world and can help significantly with feeling safe, loveable, and capable. It can work pretty quickly and magically!

INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (IFS) THERAPY/PARTS WORK

IFS empowers you to connect with your present self and past selves in a more compassionate way; helps you hold your own complexity and seemingly opposite emotions and reactions more tenderly and equally; and supports you in living life in a more clear and peaceful way.

SOMATIC THERAPY

Somatic Therapy helps you come home to your body. It is invaluable in helping us remember that we are mammals first and need to tend to our nervous systems as much as we do our thoughts and emotions.

JUNGIAN THERAPY

Jungian Therapy can help you connect to greater archetypes that describe the joys and challenges of being human, which can bring perspective and be emboldening.

Above all, my practice is heart centered.

My work is focused on creating more self-compassion for yourself and your experiences. I help you hold all of it together – body, mind, and soul as well as past, present, and future, so that you can heal from your past if needed, face present challenges, and grow in to the life you’ve always wanted and the person that you’ve always known you were meant to be.

My mission is to be dedicated to learning about your unique history, challenges, strengths, and resiliencies so that I can help alert you to your blind spots and areas of growth. I’m also dedicated to teach you how to be more aware of your thoughts and how to sit and be with your emotions.

It is possible to gain more self-love and self-worth, feel peace in your body, improve your relationships with others, and feel empowered about your life. And I’m here to help.
