Jungian Therapy

Jungian Therapy can help you connect more deeply to your unconscious mind and the insight it has to offer, as you heal from anxiety, perfectionism, and trauma. Jungian Therapy includes the belief that our individual human experiences can also be found throughout the rest of humanity, across different cultures and times – meaning we are never alone in our experiences.

This therapeutic approach was developed from Carl Jung’s work and centers the concept of “archetypes,” or universal symbols and characters that represent fundamental human motivations and behaviors. In therapy together, we’ll discuss which of these archetypes you might identify with and how they can better help you understand your conscious and unconscious self.

Archetypes in Jungian Therapy can help you more clearly see the patterns that are contributing to or resulting from your mental health struggles and the challenges you’ve experienced in your life.

For example, Jungian archetype work in therapy could include discussing anxiety’s connection to The Controller/Ruler archetype, which is always looking into the future, rather than being present or in a receptive state.

Instead, we might explore how to consciously identify with other archetypes, like The Destroyer and The Creator, which can help you see which areas of your life first need dissolution, then building back up, so you can lead the life you want to live – one that you’ve created.

Our bodies, minds, and spirits contain so much wisdom – including wisdom that may be hidden in our unconscious. Jungian Therapy can help you access the strength and knowledge you already hold within you.

Even discussing your dreams can be helpful, as they often contain archetypes, symbols, or themes that can be telling of your current or past life experiences. Whichever path your unconscious wisdom encourages you to explore, I’m here to help you navigate the journey.
